Dj Tailor - Timisoara, Romania
“I started playing music as TDJ 5 years ago, having started tango lessons no more than a year before that. When it comes to music in general I am a bit of an “old soul” enjoying the music of the 80s and 70s so tango music came natural to me. Initially, years before having any direct contact to the tango world, I was drawn to modern and nuevo orchestras like Piazzolla, Gotan Project, Electrocutango and so on, but once I stepped into this world i quickly discovered the vast music that was hidden from the large public eye. Even though i started tango for the dancing, I stayed for the music. I cannot say that I have one favorite orchestra, they vary throughout the year. I like to savor a bit of everything. On the ronda, i keep a keen eye and ear to what people enjoy dancing to and then tailor the tandas to the dancers.”
Dj Mata - Plovdiv, Bulgaria
“I have been dancing tango for 15 years, teaching for 10 years, and DJing for 9 years. I have played music at all the big events in Bulgaria, as well as in Romania, Greece, Serbia, Austria, and Israel. I prefer dynamic music from the Golden Age and danceable cortinas. I always consider the organizers’ wishes for the type of music. My range is from absolutely classic milonga to neo and electro-tango.”
Bando Dj Alex Beltango - Belgrade, Serbia
“After playing the bandoneon with my Quinteto Beltango for 25 years on concert stages and at the world’s biggest tango festivals, I would like to be even more closely connected to the tango community with such a “compact” form of performance. My fine sense of tango will allow the natural sound of my 100-year-old “Doble-A-Premier” bandoneon to blend wonderfully with the traditional music of the most famous orchestras in tango history. Neo-tango tandas, composed by me and performed with Beltango, as well as “Balkan Roots” cortinas will make the atmosphere even more exciting.
Let’s take a crazy jump with the tango time machine. PS I forgot to mention that I am also an enthusiastic tango dancer…
Well then let’s go!!!”
